Telefónicawatch – release #132

Jan 22, 2019

Featured insight:
Highlights from Telefónicawatch #132

Telefónica Vivo building

  • Japanese vendor Furukawa is making headway with Telefónica in Latin America, with Vivo reported to be piloting FTTP network expansion solutions from the vendor.
  • Group contracts supported customer connectivity and services: Quantenna delivered next‑generation gateways and repeaters, Wyplay‘s IPTV software solutions underpin Telefónica’s pay‑TV service in Argentina, and NAGRA is providing content protection over multiple video platforms.
  • Nokia took its turn in the spotlight, creating a 5G cell cluster with O2 Germany, while O2 UK has selected its evolved Service Operation Center solution (which has already been deployed in three other Telefónica markets), reflecting the closeness of Nokia’s relationship with the Global CTIO office.
